Vergrendeling Westoever verlengd (foto's)

(14 maart 2010) De afgrendeling van de Westelijke Jordaanoever die zaterdagavond zou eindigen, wordt verlengd tot dinsdag. Het bezettingsleger meldde dat de Jordaanoever om veiligheidsredenen is afgesloten. In de afgelopen tien jaar heeft Israël de bezette Westelijke Jordaanoever uit vrees voor aanslagen geregeld afgegrendeld, meestal in de aanloop naar feestdagen. Daar is dit keer geen sprake van. Door de maatregel kunnen tienduizenden Palestijnen van de Westelijke Jordaanoever niet naar hun werk in Israël.

Ook het bezoek aan de Al Aqsa moskee wordt door Israël weer beperkt: alleen Israëlische Arabieren boven de 50 jaar krijgen toegang. Hoe zou u reageren wanneer bijvoorbeeld het Marokkaanse leger uw dorp belegerde en ging bepalen wie er de kerk mag bezoeken en wie niet?
