De verknipte persconferentie van de uit Iran vrijgelaten 'wandelaars'

Op hun persconferentie gisteren in New York verklaarden de twee door Iran vrijgelaten 'wandelaars', Shane Bauer en Josh Fattal, dat hun ervaringen in de Iraanse gevangenis verschrikkelijk waren. En dat was het dan. Wat er nog meer gezegd is hebben onze "kwalteitskranten", de staatsomroep NOS en onze persbureaus ANP en Novum eensgezind verzwegen. Omdat het onze officiële werkelijkheid over Iran, en de VS, niet bevestigt.

In een ander bericht van de NOS worden de 'wandelaars' geciteerd met een indicatie naar wat er nog meer gezegd is op de persconferentie:

"We hopen dat alle politieke gevangenen, in Iran en de VS, snel vrijkomen."

Én in de VS? Wat bedoelen ze daarmee? Politieke gevangenen in de VS? De NOS zwijgt. Dit is het verknipte beeld van 38 seconden dat de NOS uitzond van de persconferentie:



Als we onze media moeten geloven stuurt Amerika nooit spionnen en infiltranten naar Iran.

Glenn Greenwald meldt op de website van Salon.com wat er nog meer op de persconferentie gezegd is.

"In prison, every time we complained about our conditions, the guards would remind us of comparable conditions at Guantanamo Bay; they'd remind us of CIA prisons in other parts of the world; and conditions that Iranians and others experience in prisons in the U.S.
We do not believe that such human rights violation on the part of our government justify what has been done to us: not for a moment.  However, we do believe that these actions on the part of the U.S. provide an excuse for other governments - including the government of Iran - to act in kind."

Fattal then expressed "great thanks to world leaders and individuals" who worked for their release, including Hugo Chavez, the governments of Turkey and Brazil, Sean Penn, Noam Chomsky, Mohammad Ali, Cindy Sheehan, Desmond Tutu, as well as Muslims from around the world and "elements within the Iranian government," as well as U.S. officials.
