Israëlische terreuraanval op Gaza

Terwijl niemand nog weet wie de aanslagplegers in Eilat waren, voerde Israël gisterenavond bombardementen uit op Gaza. Door onze pro-Israël massamedia weer traditioneel een "vergeldingsaanval" genoemd, en in wezen suggereert dat de aanslagen de schuld van elke inwoner in Gaza is, en zij dus 'terecht' gestrafd worden. Ook wordt verzwegen dat de slachtoffers van de aanval op de Israëlische bus Israëlische militairen waren.

Collectief straffen is een oorlogsmisdaad, maar minister Rosenthal veroordeelde alleen de aanslagen op Israëlische doelen: "De laffe terreurdaad veroordeel ik in de sterkste bewoordingen." Dinsdag heeft het Israëlische leger een geestelijk gehandicapte tiener (17) doodgeschoten met tien kogels, voornamelijk door het hoofd. De jongen zou, volgens het IDF, te dichtbij een door Israël verboden zone in Gaza zijn gekomen. Dat veroordeelde Rosenthal niet. Laat staan dat we dat in een Nederlandse krant zouden lezen. Waarom weet Nederland niets over deze laffe terreurdaad? Omdat de jongen geen Israelische jood is, maar een Palestijn, wiens dood nu eenmaal minder waard is. Zo'n daad past gewoonweg niet in het beeld dat wij in Nederland horen te koesteren: het beeld dat Israelische joden altijd slachtoffers zijn, en Palestijnen allemaal daders.

Uit "vergelding" voor een misdaad waarvan de daders nog steeds niet door Israël bekend worden gemaakt.
