Historicus en politicoloog Norman Finkelstein richtte in zijn boek 'De Holocaust Industrie: bespiegelingen over de exploitatie van het joodse lijden' (2000) zijn pijlen op o.a. Elie Wiesel, die hij de "Holocaust Industry CEO" noemt.
